New Logo Transition

Huper Optik Logo

Over the next 18 months Huper Optik will be making a transition to its new logos. We will have 2 logos, one for auto and the other for flat glass. The difference between the 2 logos will be the auto will have the rhino associated to it and the flat glass will not. The old logo can be used throughout the transition. If you are interested in using the new logo, please email Dwayne O’Brien.

The Rhino logo and attributes came from a marketing and research company that associated the toughness of the rhino with our multi-layer ceramic films.

For flat glass we chose not to use the rhino as it is not appropriate in residential and commercial applications. We will still use the new font as you will see above.

Sales Book

We have released a sales book that will help you present our products more professionally in the field, as well as with interior designers and architects.

These sales books cost $35 each and are available for sale today. They have all our products and actual film samples as well as specifications. The 3 ring binder will allow these books to be dynamic for product additions and subtractions. Along with the samples, the book contains, a film to glass chart, a global client list, a copy of the patent and more. Please contact your distributor to purchase your copy.

2016 Huper Optik Dealer Meeting – Save The Date

Viva Las Vegas! Huper Optik USA takes its dealer meeting back to Vegas for 2016. The meeting venue will be the Green Valley Ranch Resort.

Green Valley Resort gives us the best of both worlds, a very popular destination in Las Vegas, as well as a business atmosphere with its location off the strip.

Huper Optik USA has opted for national meetings every other year with regional meetings in the years in between. Due to the successful participation we had in our regional meeting in early 2015, we will be having regional breakouts at our national meeting as well. The details on exact dates, and more, will be available in 45 days.

The Coop and Rebate programs have been revamped as they were not being utilized. The new program makes participation very easy. Please ask your distributor for details so you can maximize these programs.

The MAP Program and how to get help from Hüper Optik USA for your commercial projects was a key part of the meeting. “In a time when manufacturers look to bypass the dealer on the dealers’ projects and go directly to the commercial customer, our MAP program does the exact opposite; it adds the values a dealer will need while giving the dealer the added security that they will not be bypassed” quoted John Yard, VP of National Sales.

The technical presentation, always a dealer favorite, focused on the claims of the “Ceramic” debate and how nearly every manufacturer has tried to somehow claim a ceramic film. Even companies that have had “ceramic films” are now claiming to come out with Hüper- like ceramics. This only shows how you, our dealers, are continuing to win against the competition. The technical session also focused on the growing segment of the Therm-x films for flat glass and Xtreme films for the auto market and their respective advantages.

Tech update: Applying film to dual pane glass with surface 4 coatings

Huper Optik Dealers,

You have asked us to  look into this issue, so we have a quick update on the application of window film on  surface # 4 that has coatings on it. This is the inner most surface of a dual pane unit that comes in contact with us from the interior. The outer most surface  is number 1. (this is the surface you touch from the outside of the home).

There are various coatings that exist, two of the most common are self-cleaning coatings and low e coatings (which can be hard coat or soft coat).  As of today Huper Optik does not recommend/warranty any of our films on coatings on surface 4 due to the potential damage of these coatings as well as potentially hurting the performance of these low e coatings. This combined with any removal of the film for warranty or other reasons may result in damage.

Exterior films are an option for these applications.

Here are some EDTM meters that can be used to detect these coatings:
RX 1550 – $399
– The best coatings detector is the RX 1550
– can detect low e  and self-cleaning coatings

Low E  Etekt AE 1601 – $199
– can detect low e coatings

Glass Check Pro GC 3000 – $999 (surface 1)
– can tell glass thickness and low e coatings
– A more complete meter but not for coatings alone

On some of the meters when detecting the coatings, the surface numbers are reversed as the meter thinks that the surface that the meter is touching is actually surface 1 .Keep this in mind to make sure you understand that this is reversed when you are placing the meter on surface 4.

The Ritz-Carlton luxury hotels pride themselves on providing an exceptional guest experience. They operate some of the finest hotel properties in the world focusing on providing luxury, and have found they do not need to compromise the luxury to achieve environmental standards.

The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte designed a LEED Gold property and is constantly looking for ways to decrease the environmental impact without compromising luxury.

To improve the efficiency of their HVAC and enhance their guests’ comfort, The Ritz-Carlton chose to install Hüper Optik’s Patented Nano-Ceramic Window film. This provided an aggressive Return on Investment of less than 4 years. With the added incentives offered through Utility Company rebates, the ROI was reduced to around 2 years.

The LEED Gold certification is a distinction awarded The Ritz Carlton Charlotte by achieving the criteria set by the U.S. Green Build Council for environmental stewardship. This award is the culmination of the design and focus of The Ritz Carlton Charlotte in using a sustainable design and efficient use of resources to help protect our environment.

The installation of Hüper Optik Nano-Ceramic films offered an 8% reduction in overall energy use on this property without changing the look of the existing glass.

Congress Approves Tax Credit Extension for Window Film

Congress has recently passed HR 5771, an extension of tax credits on energy efficient improvements. These energy efficient improvements include window film and allows taxpayers to claim the incentives on their 2014 returns filed in early 2015. Congress stated that they will cover up to 10 percent of the cost of window films to a maximum of $500.

As part of a home or building’s insulation envelope, window films like those manufactured by Huper Optik,  reduces energy consumption by rejecting the sun’s solar energy and UV rays during the hot months of the year. Window films have been formulated to allow in the maximum amount of natural light, all while still protecting you against the sun’s heat, and UV rays. Not known to most, but in the winter months some window film can reflect heat, keeping it in, allowing for less energy consumption.

It has been proven that window films are beneficial in residential and commercial energy efficiency improvements by reducing a property’s carbon footprint. There are many dealers around the country that carry it and  application time is short. It also has been proven that window films have a lower cost than most energy efficient improvements, as well as a faster return on investment. These are just a few reasons window film has made it on HR 5771 allowing consumers to claim the tax credit on their 2014 returns.
